B. UBC 43-6 (ASTM E814-83) - Fire rated cabinets fabricated in accordance to measure, restore, perform.

C. Americans with Disabilities Act 1990- Maximum 4 cabinet projection for corridors.

1.04 QUALITY ASSURANCE

A. Conform to NFPA 10 requirements for portable fire extinguishers.

B. Provide fire extinguishers, cabinets and accessories by a single manufacturer.

C. Conform to UBC 43-6 (ASTM E814-83) for fire resistive wall performance where necessary.

D. Conform to Americans with Disabilities Act 1990 on maximum cabinet projection of C in corridors where necessary.

1-05 SUBMITTALS

A. Submit brochure and product data in compliance with Section 01340.

PART 2: PRODUCTS

2.01 ACCEPTABLE MANUFACTURERS

A. Where shown on the drawings, provide fire extinguishers, cabinets, accessories manufactured by J.L. Industries, Inc., 4450 West 78th Street Circle, Bloomington, MN 55435, (952) 835-6850, Fax: (952) 835-2218

2.02 FIRE EXTINGUISHERS

A. Water Type: J. L. Industries Grenadier P

B. Dry Chemical Type: J. L. Industries Cosmic or Galaxy Series

C. Carbon Dioxide Type: J. L. Industries Sentinel Series.

2.03 FIRE EXTINGUISHER CABINETS

A. Where indicated on drawings, provide J.L's ________ Series, model number _______ _______ door. Door and trim to be fabricated from (cold-rolled steel, aluminum, and stainless steel). Color anodized aluminum, special painted surfaces and graphics as indicated.

B. Provide cabinets with fire-rated option, if applicable.

2.04 ACCESSORIES

A. Fire Blankets and Cabinets

B. Extinguisher Brackets

C. Cabinet Alarms

PART 3: EXECUTION

3.01 INSTALLATION

A. Install items included in this section in locations and at mounting heights indicated, or if not indicated, at heights to comply with applicable regulations of goveming authorities.

1. Prepare recesses in walls for fire extinguisher cabinets as required by type and size of cabinet and style of trim and to comply with manufacturers instructions.

2. Securely fasten mounting brackets and fire extinguisher cabinets to structure, square and plumb, to comply with manufacturer’s instructions.
