Retain the following 3 subparagraphs for a galvanized roof
hatch.
1. ASTM A 36/A 36M-01: Specification
for Carbon Structural Steel.
2. ASTM A 653/A 653M-02: Specification
for Steel Sheet, Zinc-Coated (Galvanized) or Zinc-Iron Alloy-Coated
(Galvannealed) by the Hot-Dip Process.
3. ASTM A 792/A 792M-02: Specification
for Steel Sheet, 55% Aluminum-Zinc Alloy-Coated by the Hot-Dip
Process.
Retain the following 2 subparagraphs for an aluminum roof
hatch
4. ASTM B 209-02: Specification for
Aluminum and Aluminum-Alloy Sheet and Plate.
5. ASTM B 209M-02: Specification for
Aluminum and Aluminum-Alloy Sheet and Plate [Metric].
1.04 SUBMITTALS
A. Product Data: For each type of roof
hatch indicated. Include manufacturer's model number and accessories and
requirements for roughing-in dimensions.
1.05 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING
A. Packing, Shipping, Handling and Unloading: Deliver roof hatch as a
factory assembled unit in manufacturer’s original packaging.
B. Store
materials in a dry, protected, well-vented area. The contractor shall
thoroughly inspect product upon receipt and report damaged material immediately
to delivering carrier and note such damage on the carrier’s freight bill of
lading.

If more than one size is required for the project, identify each type on a
schedule located on the drawings and identify each type in the specification
section.

2. Model: RHG-2; 54 inches by 30
inches clear opening.
3. Model: RHG-3; 96 inches by 30
inches clear opening.
4. Model: RHG-4; 36 inches by 36
inches clear opening.

PART 3: EXECUTION
3.01
EXAMINATION
A. Examine areas and conditions affecting
installation. Do not proceed with installation until unsatisfactory conditions
have been corrected.
3.02
INSTALLATION
A. Install system level and plumb, and in
accord with manufacturer’s written instructions, original design and referenced
standards.
3.03 ADJUSTING
A. Adjust system for proper operation.
Replace any parts that prevent the roof hatch from operating
properly.
3.04 CLEANING
A. Remove all debris caused by installation
of the roof hatch. Clean all exposed surfaces to as fabricated condition and
appearance.
3.05 PROTECTION
A. Provide protection of the completed
installation until completion of the project. Repair any damage at no additional
cost.
3.06 SCHEDULES
If more than one type of roof hatch is required, provide a schedule
similar to the following example below. Use the corresponding type designations
here and on the drawings,
